Day
1 : Akha
to Lahu - Your trip departs at 08:30 a.m. from
town by vehicle to the trekking area. Start your trek
to Akha village walk to a scenic spot
and continue to the Lahu village of Jalah for
lunch. After lunch, continue your trek to waterfall,
on to the Lahu village of Ya Pou. The
people of Ya Pou are known for their animist rituals -
a belief that all life has a spiritual force separate
from matter. Here you will stay overnight and enjoy a
local style dinner.(L,D)
Day
2: Lahu to Karen - Leaving Ya
Pou after breakfast. Enjoy your trek along the scenic
route for approximately three hours through the
Lahu village of Jator. Lunch break around the
area of Jator. After lunch, continue with an easy trek
to a waterfall. You can enjoy the forest
breeze and freshen up there before beginning another two
hour trek to Karen house (The Mahout Elephants
Camp), where you can experience the life of mahouts
and elephants before riding an elephant the next day.
Have dinner and stay overnight at the camp. (B,L,D)
Day
3: Karen Trek - After breakfast,
start your trek by riding on an elephant for
approximately one and a half hours to the Karen
Village of Ruam Mitr. The hilly terrain of the
elephant’s path shall excite you while you are enjoying
the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains.
After the elephant trek, continue your trip by long-tail
boat at Mae Kok River to the hot spring
for lunch, where you can take your time enjoying the natural
hot mineral water from this serene spot. After
lunch, you will take a long tail boat
back to town. (B,L)
