4   Loy Krathong Festival : November
 

Loy Krathong Festival is one of Thailand’s largest celebrated festivals. At Chiang rai will be take place on November 10th at Mae Fah Luang Bridge in the evening, there are Kom roy’s (lanterns in the sky) and a decorate a krathong to set into Mae Kok river. On Friday November 11th 2011 will be a lantern parading through the street, start from Suan Tung to Thanalai Rd. down to Mae Fah Luang bridge. There are the performing traditional Lanna dances and Noppamas beauty contest.

5   Sunflower Blossom Festival : November
 

Doi Hua Mae Kham located at M.4 T. Mae Salong Noi, Mae Fah Loang district. Some 35 km. from Thoed Thai Village. There are Akha, Lahu, Lisu, plus Hmong and  Tai Yai residents. It’s on the border with Myanmar. At this time of the year, the sunflowers are in full bloom and cover the hills and villages. The area is also one of the best place in Thailand to watch a sunrise.

1 Walking Street Chiang rai : Saturday Night Market
 
Chiang rai walking street sets up every Saturday since November 1st 2008 on Thanalai Road. It opens 4 pm to midnight. The street is closed to traffic and stall line the sidewalks.The market has 3 zones. Zone 1: known as OTOP (One Tambon One-Product) which encourages each district (Tambon) to produce its own local specialities. Shops are from royal project and product from hill tribe groups in Chiang rai. Zone 2: You can see handmade products from youth and local people, spa activities and also places offering Thai massages. The last zone is the exhibition area. You can also enjoy a cheap meal or various northern foods. Some street shows and traditional singing or dancing can be seen.

Happy Street Chiang rai : Sunday Night Market

 
The project was organized by government, monks and people who lives at Sankhong Luang , Chiang Rai which is one of the oldest community. The happy street is a concept ideas to develop tonw by using the area of city go along with the way of people life in community, and foreigners who lives in the Chiang Rai such as Japaneses, French etc. The action of the Happy Street sets up every Sunday on Sankhong Road from 4 pm.- midnight. (Performances and cultural activities,Local crafts / OTOP products,The Finest food from northern Thailand)
