Day 1: Discover the Wonders of the Golden Triangle
Your journey begins in the morning as you head to the Doi Tung Royal Villa, nestled in the lush hills of Chiang Rai Province, where you’ll explore the incredible Hill Tribe Project at Doi Tung. Learn about the sustainable initiatives aimed at improving the lives of local ethnic communities and enjoy the spectacular views. Afterward, visit the tranquil beauty of Mae Fah Luang Garden, renowned for its vibrant flowers and rich greenery. Continue your adventure to Mae Sai, Thailand’s northernmost point, where the vibrant market and culture await. From there, venture to the iconic Golden Triangle, where the Ruak River and Mekong River converge, creating the borders between Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. Visit the House of Opium Museum, where you’ll uncover the fascinating history of the opium trade in the region. Your day continues with a visit to Chiang Sean, home to the ancient Wat Chedi Luang temple, a historical and architectural gem. On your final day, begin with breakfast in the village before embarking on an exciting trek up Doi Chi Fa, also known as the “Mountain That Points to the Sky.” This three-hour hike will reward you with a panoramic view of the entire valley, offering breathtaking vistas of Laos and the Mekong River.
